Achonry Diocesan Mission 2014 – Prayer & Renewal

As part of its Year of Prayer for the diocese there was a Diocesan Mission (conducted over three nights) held in three separate locations throughout the diocese during October and November. The venues were: Swinford Parish (October 28th – 30th), Ballymote Parish (November 3rd – 5th) and Tubbercurry Parish (November 10th – 12th). The Mission began at 7.30pm on each evening. As part of the Year of Prayer in the Diocese of Achonry, a Diocesan Mission took place in Parish Areas throughout the diocese. The Mission consisted of three nights in three different locations, where Mass was celebrated. Each night had its own theme and offered some questions for on-going reflection. The themes were “Personal Renewal”, “Parish Renewal” and “Diocesan Renewal”.

Preachers included Bishop Brendan Kelly, Monsignor Thomas Johnston and Frs Dermot Meehan, James McDonagh and Vincent Sherlock.

The venues were:

Swinford Parish Church – Tuesday October 28th, Wednesday October 29th and Thursday October 30th. Mass each evening at 7.30pm
Ballymote Parish Church – Monday November 3rd, Tuesday November 4th and Wednesday November 5th. Mass each evening at 7.30pm
Tubbercurry Parish Church – Monday November 10th, Tuesday November 11th and Wednesday November 12th. Mass each evening at 7.30pm

Bishop Brendan Kelly and the Diocesan Vision Group extended an invitation to all in the diocese to attend the “Diocesan Mission – A Journey Shared” in one of these venues..
