Straide N.S. Celebrates Fifty Years /
Straide Church Celebrates 100 Years
The present building of Ss. Peter & Paul National School will be 50 years old this summer. The building was officially blessed and opened on Monday, September 14th 1964. The pupils and teachers had already moved into the school a few days before that date. Costing £11,000 at the time, the new school replaced a two roomed building which dated from 1891.
The Church of Saints Peter & Paul had its foundation stone laid on the eve of the Feast of Ss. Peter & Paul in 1914 – i.e on June 28 1914. A combined celebration of these two events will take place over the coming Summer and Autumn months.
Straide N.S. Celebrates Fifty Years / Centenary of Laying of Church Foundation Stone

Both events will be celebrated over the summer months. Photographs relating to the school / church (from any era) are being sought. If you are in possession of any please contact the school or Fr.
