“Silent Moves” – October 21 2017
Well done to Straide Community Development Group (SCDG) for organising a showing of the wonderful film ‘Silent Moves’ at Straide Davitt Community Hall on Sat, 21st October last. ‘Silent Moves’ is a film by Aideen Barry, Western Care’s Ridgepool Training Centre and Scannán Technologies. The film uses stylised mime, music and movement to tell a humorous triangle-love-story. It tells of the everyday challenges faced by people with intellectual disabilities. Two stars from Straide feature in this fantastic award-winning movie. The movie was shown as part of Mayo Social Inclusion Awareness Week 2017. A wonderful night was had by all. Well done to all the stars who turned up and, of course, to all the fans also.

Well done to the organising committee who put a huge amount of work into organising the day. Refreshments were provided afterwards in the Davitt Hall where there was also an excellent display of World I and World II artefacts
