Feast of the Guardian Angels

Today, Friday, October 2nd is the Feast of the Guardian Angels. In more recent years, angels have come to the fore in many religions and faiths – especially in some of the “New Age” beliefs. However, their existence is firmly rooted in Christian theology where their existence is mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments.

It is very consoling to know that, from the moment we were created, an angel was assigned to look after and protect us each and every day of our lives until we finally meet our Creator.

“O Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here. Ever this day be at my side to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.”
