A highlight of the Straide Gathering Weekend was the Gaelic football friendly between the Straide Gathering team and that of Bohola. The game was open to all (males and females aged 16-60) from either parish. It was billed as a “non contact” game of football. Many dispute that it turned out as such!! From the outset, Bohola took charge of the game and seemed unstoppable.

However, the large crowd of Straide supporters quickly rallied behind their team and gave them the encouragement they needed (the language can’t be printed!) to take control and win.
