Straide Fun Day was held on August 16th last. Despite the dark clouds, the rain stayed away and didn’t dampen the enjoyment of what was a wonderful day. There was a great turnout and no shortage of entries for the various competitions. The standard in the Cake of the Parish Competition was particularly high. The Townland Challenge competition was keenly contested also as was the sheaf throwing competition. A great day was had by all. Thanks and gratitude to the organisers who, again this year, put so much effort into the day. Roll on Straide Fun Day 2016.
