Fr. Tom Davitt CM was present in Straide on Sunday, August 7th to lay a wreath on the grave of his grand father, Michael Davitt. This followed Mass celebrated in the Old Penal Church [the present Davitt Museum] for the first time in 100 years earlier in the afternoon. Fr. Tom was accompanied by his brother Maurcie and hsi sister Maeve and other extended Davitt family members.
